As a people-first brand, KFC Africa recently provided the perfect platform as a self-expression canvas to showcase just why their 12th secret ingredient really is their people. KFC hosted their first-ever KFC’s Got Talent competition for their team members across the continent.
“We know that businesses hold the considerable undiscovered talent. Our recent internal talent competition proved that our teams’ skillsets and talents go far beyond creating delicious chicken meals”.

KFC Africa crews shine at talent competition.
Their talents ranged from dance acts and vocal performances to musical bands and stand-up performers. 198 South African and RoSSA KFC Talent crews, across 15 African countries, submitted videos for KFC’s Got Talent competition.
A total of 1005 African performers all contended to showcase their performances at KFC’s leading conference stage, eventually taking a shot at that cash prize.
KFC Top 20 – Turning up the heat
Firstly, submissions started in November last year with the Top 20 being chosen by the judges in December 2021. Secondly, these 20 acts were then provided with detailed professional core coaching sessions to enhance their performances. Thirdly, they gave these crews the opportunity to turn up the heat in their final submissions.
Hailing from across the continent: The Top 20 included: 7 acts from South Africa, 5 from Swaziland, 3 from Ghana, 2 from Tanzania, and 1 from Uganda. Botswana and Lesotho even got to spend valuable time with much-loved South African entertainers Tamara Dey, J-Something and Khaya Mthethwa.
There can only be 3… KFC’s Got Talent Top 3!
At long last, KFC’s Got Talent narrowed down the Top 3 crews, who then all received expert coaching sessions to fine-tune their performances.
Not only did this include voice training, stage production techniques and choreography – but also, looks-wise, they received sponsored make-overs such as hair, makeup, and wardrobe, which even included backup acts to give them that “x-factor” needed – as they took centre stage at the KFC #1 Leaders Conference.
The KFC’S Got Talent Top 3 Acts:
- A vocal performance by the team at KFC Mdantsane Mall in the Eastern Cape, South Africa
- A rapper dance group by the team at KFC Bronkhorstspruit in Gauteng, South Africa
- A vocal and dance performance by the team at KFC Kabalagal in Uganda
Coupled with the limelight, the Top 3 Talent Crews walked away with R40 000 to share between their talent crew members as well as R10 000 for their Crew’s restaurant.
“It’s been an exceptional few months of showcasing the best in KFC talent. There is an abundance of untapped creatives on our continent, who only need a springboard to showcase their skills. This was an incredible platform to do just that”.
