Tiggo Cross HEV expands Chery South Africa’s range with a hybrid model that delivers impressive performance, excellent fuel efficiency, and extended driving range. Available in the same Comfort and Elite grades as the standard Tiggo Cross, it offers buyers greater choice and makes hybrid motoring more accessible to South Africans with its competitive pricing.
Tiggo Cross HEV: efficient power and great fuel economy
the Tiggo Cross HEV combines a 1.5-litre petrol engine with an electric motor and a compact battery, working together to deliver a powerful yet smooth drive. Together, they produce a strong 150 kW and 310 N.m of torque, sending power efficiently to the front wheels thanks to Chery’s smart hybrid transmission.
Its fuel economy is impressive, using just 5.4 litres per 100 km. Plus, with a driving range of up to 1,000 km, you can cover long distances without worrying about refuelling. The clever start-stop system saves fuel during everyday city driving, making it both economical and practical.

Smart, stylish, efficient
For daily commuters, the longer range means fewer fuel stops, therefore saving time. Whether for city meetings or longer trips, drivers can relax without worrying about running out of fuel or planning charging stops like with full electric cars. Overall, the Tiggo Cross HEV offers great fuel efficiency and peace of mind.
Traffic and rush hour quietly waste fuel. To maximise efficiency, the Tiggo Cross HEV’s powertrain switches smoothly between four modes: pure electric, series hybrid, parallel hybrid, and energy recovery. In the city, it uses pure electric mode at low speeds to reduce fuel use during stop and go traffic.
Both Comfort and Elite HEV models come with their own 17 inch alloy wheels and have similar specs to the standard versions. Additionally, the hybrid features front ventilated discs and rear disc brakes for reliable stopping. Its suspension provides a balanced, comfortable ride on both city roads and rougher surfaces.
On the outside, the Tiggo Cross HEV features automatic LED headlights, LED daytime running lights, a sporty tailgate spoiler, chrome dual exhaust tips, and body coloured finishes. The Elite model adds red painted brake callipers and an electric sunroof for extra style.
