Bossa Atterbury opened on 25 June 2024 and, one year later, is proudly celebrating a successful first year of growth, great music, special memories, and loyal guests.
Bossa celebrated its first birthday in true Bossa style, with a week of build-up events, special offers and entertainment, culminating in a glamorous evening celebration. A-list personalities, media, loyal regulars and new guests came together to toast a venue that quickly became a favourite in Pretoria East.

Bossa Atterbury: building loyalty
In a competitive market, Bossa Atterbury has achieved what many restaurants strive for but few manage to reach: genuine loyalty. This success, however, did not happen overnight. It comes from careful planning, consistently building meaningful relationships with customers, and having a dedicated, passionate team.
“It’s easy to open a restaurant, but it takes passion, people skills, and consistent adaptability to keep it full,” says Hester Basilio co-owner of Bossa Atterbury.
“From day one, our team has been focused on quality, energy, and constant engagement with our customers – and it’s paid off.”

Bossa’s approach rests on three key ideas: know your community, support your team, and stay flexible. Regular specials, themed nights, and live events keep Bossa Atterbury lively and close to its guests.

“We’ve prioritised staff training and motivation from the start,” says co-owner Luvandi Economou.
“A motivated team means better service – and that’s what brings people back.”
Pretoria East’s favourite
Bossa Atterbury’s first birthday was more than just a celebration. It showed how the venue has become an important part of people’s daily lives and special moments. Whether it’s birthday dinners, first dates, Friday night drinks, or Sunday family lunches, Bossa has earned a special place in the hearts of many.
Tessa Tullues, known from the Showmax reality series The Mommy Club: Van die Hoofstad, joined the celebration and shared in the excitement of the milestone.
“Thank you for the amazing food and the unforgettable times we get to enjoy here,” she said
