This June, Johannesburg welcomes the highly anticipated Stellenbosch Winter Wine Showcase. This celebration of wine, storytelling, and connection gives city locals a rare chance to meet over 40 renowned winemakers, winery owners, and brand ambassadors from South Africa’s most awarded wine region.
The Stellenbosch Experience takes place from 9 to 11 June at venues in Sandton, Soweto, and Houghton. Guests can enjoy top wines and meet the makers behind them. This is your chance to learn about South Africa’s top wine region in a relaxed, festive setting, with tastings that let you explore and enjoy the essence of Stellenbosch.

“We’re super excited about bringing Stellenbosch to Johannesburg again this year,” says Stellenbosch Wine Routes manager Elmarie Rabe. “We share so much as South Africans, and this is another opportunity to share our stories and celebrate the diversity of culture and taste. From Soweto to Sandton, the refined elegance of Stellenbosch’s wine tradition meets the vibrancy of Johannesburg’s north.”
“At the same time, we’re hoping to entice visitors to visit Stellenbosch itself, and particularly for our annual wine festival that takes place in August,” she says.
“The Stellenbosch Wine Festival is a two-day tasting event that’s part of the Wine Town Stellenbosch celebration. It is really the time to experience some of South Africa’s world-class farms, easy village lifestyle and all-round bliss of the Stellenbosch vibe.”
The Stellenbosch Winter Wine Showcase is a favourite event in Johannesburg, and this year will be even better with new producers, new wines, and more reasons to celebrate.

Soweto – Tuesday, 10 June from 18:00 to 22:00
Venue: Ristorante Villa Soweto, 6893 Bhejane Street, Orlando West
Tickets: R200 per person.
This includes a tasting glass and all wine tastings. Gourmet meals will be available for purchase. The dress code is smart casual.

Houghton – Wednesday, 11 June from 17:30
Venue: Mazars Head Office, 54 Glenhove Road
Tickets: R300 per person. Limited to only 100 guests.

Sandton – Wednesday, 11 June from 17:30
Venue: Southern Sun and Towers
Tickets: R400 per person. Limited to 150 guests.
This premium evening includes generous wine tastings along with thoughtfully curated food pairings.
