The Grammy-winning star has announced a second Gauteng concert date for her highly anticipated A*POP World Tour, while also confirming a venue change for her existing Johannesburg-area show.
Originally scheduled for the Nasrec Outdoor Area, Tyla’s 9 January 2027 concert will now take place at SunBet Arena in Pretoria. The move comes after concerns around potential summer thunderstorms, as well as growing demand from fans who wanted a seated concert option. But that isn’t the biggest announcement.
A*Pop Tour
Following overwhelming demand, Tyla has added an additional Pretoria show on Friday, 8 January 2027, giving even more fans the opportunity to see one of South Africa’s biggest global stars perform on home soil. The announcement means Gauteng will now host two A*POP World Tour concerts at SunBet Arena, alongside the already confirmed Cape Town performance at Green Point Track on 4 January 2027.
For fans who attended Tyla’s sold-out SunBet Arena concert in 2025, the venue already holds special memories. This time around, she’ll return with new music from her latest album, A*POP, which has continued her impressive international rise.
The album debuted at number one on the Billboard US World Albums Chart and reached number three on the UK R&B Albums Chart. Singles including Chanel, She Did It Again and Is It Love? have further cemented her position as one of the most influential African artists on the global stage. The South African dates form part of Tyla’s first full headline world tour, which kicks off in Paris this October before travelling across Europe, the United Kingdom, North America, Australia and Africa.
For local fans, however, the homecoming shows are likely to be among the most anticipated stops on the entire tour. Those who already purchased tickets for the original 9 January concert don’t need to worry. Existing tickets have automatically been transferred to the new venue within the same ticket category, while ticket holders have been contacted directly regarding any additional arrangements.
