The design brand’s new Sibaya showroom is more than a store. It’s a space to explore, linger and maybe stay a little longer than planned. Let’s be honest. Most furniture shopping involves wandering through aisles, sitting on a couch you can’t afford, and promising yourself you’ll come back when payday hits. Weylandts is hoping to change that.
On 3 October 2026, the South African furniture and homeware brand will open the doors to its new flagship showroom at Reefside Lifestyle & Leisure in Sibaya, this is not your average furniture store. Designed as a destination rather than a traditional retail space, the new showroom brings together architecture, interiors, furniture and hospitality under one roof. The idea is simple: create a place where people actually want to spend time.
Weylandts expierence
Whether you’re searching for inspiration for your dream home, meeting friends for coffee or simply curious about beautiful spaces, Weylandts wants the experience to feel less like shopping and more like exploring.

The store was conceptualised by StudioLandt, with every corner designed to encourage discovery. Spread across multiple levels, visitors move through a series of carefully curated spaces, textures and materials that reveal themselves gradually rather than all at once. The result is a showroom that feels more like an experience than a transaction.
Conneting people
“Good living was never only about furniture,” says Chris Weylandt, CEO of Weylandts.
“It’s about how people gather and connect. We want people to linger, not simply pass through.”
That philosophy runs throughout the entire project.
Inspired by KwaZulu-Natal’s coastline, the architecture draws on natural elements including granite, basalt, concrete, sand and water. Earthy tones create a calm backdrop, while water features appear throughout the space, adding movement and a sense of tranquillity. From the moment visitors arrive, the environment encourages them to slow down, and because no great outing is complete without good food, Weylandts has partnered with Durban favourite Shoots and Leaves.

Known for its farm-to-table approach, the family-run restaurant will bring fresh meals, quality coffee and relaxed dining into the showroom. Visitors can browse furniture, grab lunch or hold meetings without ever feeling rushed. A dedicated boardroom has also been included, creating a practical space for local businesses, creatives and interior designers to connect and collaborate.
The location itself forms part of the story.nSituated within the rapidly growing Sibaya Coastal City precinct between uMhlanga and the North Coast, Reefside Lifestyle & Leisure offered the kind of environment Weylandts was looking for a blend of nature, architecture and lifestyle living.
According to Weylandt, Sibaya’s vision aligns closely with the brand’s own approach to thoughtful design and intentional living. The opening also marks a new chapter for Weylandts in KwaZulu-Natal, bringing its former Ballito and uMhlanga stores together under one roof. For shoppers, that means a bigger destination, a broader experience and plenty more inspiration.
So if your Pinterest board is overflowing, your home makeover plans are getting serious or you simply appreciate beautiful spaces, the new Weylandts Sibaya showroom might be worth adding to your weekend plans. Because sometimes the best part of shopping isn’t what you buy — it’s the experience you take home with you.
